Above: Getting to school is safer and easier thanks to the Dryden Road traffic filter. We now know that removing the filter would put an extra car every 6 seconds during the school run on this stretch of Dryden Road, on a walking route to Wynstream Primary School just 750 metres away

On 9 October Councillors on the Exeter Highways Committee will discuss the future of Dryden Road and the E9 cycle route.

KEEP DRYDEN ROAD SAFE

The Council report is now out. It says…

safer streets for everyone- 50 % reduction in collisions on local roads
no traffic issues- 1000’s of car journeys removed from the heart of Wonford every day. And traffic on Burnthouse Lane, Barrack Road, Fore Street (Heavitree) and Topsham Road not affected.

safe cycling- making Dryden Road unsafe would create a ‘critical issue’ for the safety of people on bikes getting to school, the hospital and the shops

Blue Light services OK- no issues raised by Fire Service, Ambulance or Police

Council are recommended to consult on solving access issues raised by hospital and P&R buses on Bovemoors Lane
